If you don’t use the Hibernation feature Windows XP offers, it’s taking up a lot of unnecessary hard drive space. The space it takes up depends on your RAM. If you have 128 MB RAM, Hibernation uses 127 MB.
Right-click on your desktop and click “Properties”. This window will now open…

Click the “Screen Saver” tab and your window will now look like this…
Click the “Power” tab and your window will look like this…
Click the “Hibernation” tab and your window will look like this…
Un-check the box like shown above and click “OK”.
