Setup Windows Vista Automatic Updates

Windows Vista provides you, the user, several different ways for all its updates to be installed. The two main options you have would be having Vista automatically install them, and you choosing to manually check for them yourself and pick which ones you think are important/needed for your personal computer to run better. This guide will also show you the several other choices that you have when it comes to these updates and the settings that are given for you to decide whether or not you want them.

Click the Windows icon, open “Control Panel”, and make sure you are set on “Control Panel Home.”

Click on the security heading.

Next, click “Windows Update”.

If you wish to manually look and install for updates, just click the “Check for updates” button on the current window and you’ll be all set. However, for those of you looking set up schedule for updates to run and install on you need to keep reading. Click “Change settings” at the top left hand corner of the above window to get to a spot to change the Windows Update settings.

On this window everything is self explanatory, but now you know where to go when you wish to change something. The only thing to remember is to make sure that you click “OK” once your done editing the settings to your likings.
