The AMD chips fry quick because they have smaller die sizes and less space between transistors to disipate heat. The Intel chips survive a tiny bit longer because they have larger die sizes and more space between transistors. Die size also effects how fast data can move through a CPU, the larger the die the longer the wires, the slower the data with older CPU’s. I thought it was pretty interesting hot the FPS slow down, then picked back up as soon as the heatsink was re-applied. This shows you that a quality heatsink is worth the money.
